We are seeking Canada’s most promising apparel and accessory designers to showcase in Toronto. Fashion is a competitive industry that requires skill, talent, hustle and networks. Participating in a fashion week requires time to create a collection, plan out a creative direction, build a marketing strategy and promote the show to generate awareness from industry, media and consumers. Please take the application process seriously to avoid wasting our time and to prevent you from appearing unprepared or unprofessional. It is important to us that everyone who participates supports each other and builds authentic relationships to grow beyond the SFW network.
Model castings for our Toronto events typically take place in August where both alumni and new models can audition for various opportunities. In some cases we may open a second casting during fittings in October. However, in 2020 we will hold our first ever virtual model casting event. For details check our ‘Tickets’ page to register or watch our instagram stories for announcements.
MODEL CASTING FOR 2024 IS NOW CLOSED. DATES FOR THE 2025 SEASON WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN AUGUST
Startup Fashion Week™ welcomes Photographers, Videographers, Bloggers, Podcasts, TV and Print Media to apply for media accreditation. We only select partners that will guarantee coverage because we have limited seating. The accreditation process allows us to vet through prospective media to ensure credibility and initiate partnership conversations. This system also helps us understand who needs access to the media pit vs. seats for the runway show, which is a huge logistical part of the production.
Regardless if you have covered our events in the past, we kindly ask that you go through the application process each year so that we know what events you are interested in covering and what type of coverage you would like to offer etc. We appreciate your time and interest in Startup Fashion Week™.
